If you're like me, you'll know what I mean when I say that I'm an empath; I have the psychic ability to tap (mostly unwillingly) into the emotions of others and confuse them with my own. This empathic ability also permits me to feel what someone is thinking and intuit how that person might feel about me.
I've discovered that I have this talent about a year ago (if it can be called a talent). I read from many websites that being an empath is very much of a double-edged sword. On one end, it's a beautiful gift that connects you to others on a very real level. On the other end, it's a never-ending torture chamber in which you are subjugated to the constant flow of every kind of emotion under the sun.
I never thought I was an introvert, but feeling the misery and pain (and even joy) of others on a regular basis has me leaping into a corner of solitude at the end of the day.
Do you feel me? Haha! I guess if you're an empath, you certainly do. The one thing I've learned on this journey is to recoop, take a deep breath in and laugh. Laughing might be just what the doctor called for, and you might find that laughter suddenly turns into an innate exfoliating process. What are your experiences on laughter and the empathic journey? I would love to hear your thoughts!
